The Backpack Digital Process

For Paid Search, Paid Social and Email

The process looks a little different depending on whether or not we’ve worked together before, who is involved, how much we cover in conversations and what digital marketing channels we’ll use.

1. First call

We have a 20-30 minute meeting to discuss your goals and challenges.

I’ll ask you questions about what success looks like to you, what your vision for the business or project is, and where you need the most help.

 

2. Deep Dive

After the call, I’ll ask you for user access to all the relevant platforms and tools you use or have asked me to help with.

This could be anything from your website (e.g. Shopify) to your digital advertising tools (e.g. Google AdWords or Facebook Business Manager).

I’ll need these to do a deep dive into the data and see where you’re currently at in your digital marketing efforts.

 

3. Audit

It’s free!

After the deep dive I’ll send you a one-page audit which will show what you’re doing well and what you can be doing better.

This is free for you to use and takeaway. It may take longer but usually I can get this to you in 3-4 days.

 

4. Proposal

If things go well and you like what you see, I head back to Backpack HQ, draft a proposal based on what we discussed, and send it to you for review.

Usually, this proposal will be a trial so as to make sure that I can deliver value to your business, and that we work well together, before committing to anything longer.

 

5. Fees & paperwork

Boring but necessary.

I’ll most likely recommend a monthly retainer fee model but I can be adaptable.

Once you accept the proposal, I draft and sign a contract and send it over for you to sign. After we sign the contract, and any other necessary paperwork, we officially get started 🥳

 

6. Kick off call

Let’s go!

We’ll likely schedule another call to get going and make sure I’m prioritising what work is needed. We’ll talk about everything from budgeting and targets to ad formats and target audiences.

I’ll most likely need your help with creative assets and ad copy to make sure everything is on-brand.

 

7. Report, optimise & improve

We’ll get into a good cadence of reporting where I aim to keep it simple and clear for you.

My reports are super simple on purpose. Not all metrics matter and we have to focus on the KPIs. We’ll work together to optimise what’s needed to improve the results and grow your business.
